Ghassan Ahmed / Software Engineer
Building software people rely on.
I design and ship software end-to-end — from system architecture and APIs to fast, bilingual interfaces. 6+ years in production across Palestine and the Gulf. Currently engineering BrightGaza.

Qareeb
قريب“nearby” in Arabic
A delivery platform built for Palestine.
I designed and engineered Qareeb end-to-end — the customer ordering experience, phone-number sign-in, and the operations dashboard behind it. Arabic-first with full English support, installable on any phone, and deployed on a modern edge stack.
- Phone-first sign-inOTP verification on Palestinian numbers. No passwords, no friction.
- Arabic-first, truly bilingualRTL and LTR from one codebase — not a translated afterthought.
- Installable PWAAdd it to the home screen and it behaves like a native app.
- Operations dashboardThe tooling that keeps orders moving behind the scenes.

An engineer who owns the whole problem.
I started in 2020 shipping platforms for Palestinian government bodies, human-rights organisations and Gulf clients. Since then I've owned systems end-to-end — data models, APIs, access control, real-time pipelines, and the interfaces on top.
I'm a software engineer, not a framework specialist. I pick the stack that fits the problem, and I obsess over the details people actually feel: speed, clarity, and Arabic that reads like Arabic — not a mirrored English layout.
Product engineering
From a blank repo to a live product — scoping, building, launching, iterating.
Systems & APIs
Data models, REST APIs, auth and RBAC, real-time pipelines that hold up in production.
Interfaces
Fast, responsive React / Next.js front-ends that feel native on a phone.
Bilingual by default
Arabic and English, RTL and LTR, designed in from day one.
Platforms trusted at national scale.
Government portals, human-rights platforms, and bilingual marketplaces — production systems people depend on every day.
Divide and conquer. Ship in focused steps.
National-scale platforms aren't built by accident. Everything I've shipped got there the same way — and it's literally written on my wall.
Yes — that's BrightGaza on the laptop.- 01
Decompose
Break the problem into pieces small enough to reason about.
- 02
Design
Data model, boundaries, and failure modes — before the first line of code.
- 03
Ship a slice
Get a thin, real version in front of users early.
- 04
Iterate
Measure, harden, repeat. Small steps compound.
6 years of shipping to production.
Product engineering, backend systems, and admin platforms — for startups, government bodies, and human-rights organisations across Palestine and the Gulf.
